Sadhana
From BluWiki
Hi yogis, yoginis, street people, and celestial beings,
This is a website to talk with each other about something that might be intense, or mundane, or intimate, or momentous: our sadhanas. A sadhana is a daily personal practice. Nothing more, nothing less. It makes no difference what the sadhana experience is, as long as we have it. So this is, in part, a way to motivate ourselves to have the will to do sadhana. And then to share our sadhanas, with ourselves and with others.
How to join in?? Okay here are the simplest instructions I can manage:
- If you want to write anything, look below in the "Site Toolbox" under "Views."
- Then press "Discussion," which will take you to a place where you'll see a "+" below where you had just seen "Discussion." Click on the "+"
- Then type something in the empty box, along with a subject line.
- And then, finally, don't forget to push the "Save page" button.
At any time later you can change it. You don't need to sign up or log in to participate, although if you want to have a snazzy username like I do (Satshabd) and get email telling you when others have entered the discussion, then simply register. It takes just a second.
All these changes that you are seeing in your personality did not happen because you got counseled, or your teacher was great. You all changed because you wanted to change and you did sadhana. Sadhana changed you. The ultimate approach is when you want to change and you do sadhana. - Yogi Bhajan
THE TECHNICAL CRAP
This is my first experiment with a "wiki," which is a page that anybody can join in on, with no computer skills needed, or so they say. I first thought about making this part of our website, but then realized it needed to spread far beyond Michigan. In other words, you can tell anyone about it!!
Here's what the young college whipper-snapper who created bluwiki.com offers as advice for those of us who know nothing about this kind of thing:
- This is a wiki. That means three main things:
- You just type words in the box. If you want to format what you've typed (bold, italics, links, adding photos, making lists) press the blue "Editing help" link below. The wiki uses "markup" to format pages, and it's not that hard to figure out. But, really, you don't need to format -- just type.
- Anybody (generally) can edit any page.
- Old versions of each page are stored under "Page History," so nothing is ever lost. Don't worry about messing up.
- Press "Show preview" to see what your edit will do.
- It's usually a good idea to put a few words into the edit Summary. This text will show up in the History.
- Don't forget to press "Save Page" before closing your browser. Failure to save is the leading cause of editing frustration.
Please feel free to experiment. This is the best way to see what things do. Click something! Try it! It's really very easy.
Okay that's it for now. Tomorrow I'll write about my sadhana. If I do one!
Peace to all,
Dale / Sat Shabd
